.: Seven seas (sea 1)

I’ve been to my favourite hotel at the seaside for a few days. Well I only discovered it last year, but I immediately fell in love with the chef’s ability and the management kindness.

So this is my first post on the great food I had during these last days. Unfortunately I sometimes forgot the exact name of the dish, but I can swear they were perfectly cooked and such nice combinations of tastes.

As I arrived, I went to the beach, but first I gave my choice for the lunch: I am not sure what was the fish in the pasta sauce, but it was delicious

and after that, they served swordfish. Il pesce spada era davvero delizioso

And potatoes were perfect too. And then… dinner was even more tasty. Cena più che deliziosa: fritto alla londinese. You would call it fish & chips, but it’s not so simple to fry them perfectly

and the final touch was this beautiful dessert: sfoglia, crema chantilly e mirtilli…mmmmmmmmm

I lost almost 5 kgs during the last 5 weeks. Don’t ask me how. Only rational answer is “emotions”. I had a lot of different strong emotions. People I care for had some serious health problems. And I met some real wonderful, smart, sensitive, kind person. Emotion is what can stress you and what can make you happy. Emotion is what makes you burn calories and feel alive. So my recipe for a good diet is commit to good habits and live, live, live. Ciò che ci rende umani è l’emozione. Volete stare bene ? Vivete, ogni momento. Datevi agli altri, appassionatevi, spendetevi, innamoratevi.

So tonight I felt like cooking something tasty and kind of lustful. In a word: something fried. Fried mozzarella. It is sooooo simple, quick and yummy.

Mozzarella
Flour
Egg
Breadcrumb
Oil for frying
Salt
Pepper

Cut some mozzarella slices (1 cm). You better buy that non-watery one.

Put it in flour, and cover the slices very well

Beat the egg with some salt and pepper. Then make a double egg+breadcrumb covering: ut them in egg, then in breadcrumb, then again in the egg and again in breadcrumb. Meanwhile warm the oil very well and… fry !

Turn them quickly and often cause they will be ready very quicly and you must prevent mozzarella from melting. Then put them on some paper

I also made a small omelette with the rest of the egg and breadcrumb. And that’s it

Sometimes food is not just food. Sometimes music is not just music. Sometimes feelings are not just feelings.

Sometimes you do feel you’re just a vibe in the universe and it feels great.

The Aztecs believed that cacao seeds were the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom, and the seeds once had so much value that they were used as a form of currency. Also they believed that Quetzalcoatl had been condemned by the other gods for sharing chocolate with humans.

The Maya people left some surviving writings about cacao which confirm the identification of the drink with the gods. The Dresden Codex specifies that it is the food of the rain deity Kon, the Madrid Codex that gods shed their blood on the cacao pods as part of its production.

Isn’t it sadly ironic that Europeans almost exterminated people who gave chocolate to the world ?
