.: I miss the air, I miss my friends

“I only wanted to have fun
Learning to fly, learning to run
I let my heart decide the way
When I was young”

It was much sweeter to have tea with Fatima, Narjis and little Yasmine…

I really miss them, as I miss my other friends who live far from me. I wish all of them lived by me and could have a chat and a tea with me. Sometimes you have the chance.. sometimes you don’t.

To me, fair friend, you never can be old,
For as you were when first your eye I eyed,
Such seems your beauty still. Three winters cold
Have from the forests shook three summers’ pride;
Three beauteous springs to yellow autumn turned
In process of the seasons have I seen;
Three April pérfumes in three hot Junes burned,
Since first I saw you fresh, which yet are green.
Ah yet doth beauty, like a dial hand,
Steal from his figure, and no pace perceived;
So your sweet hue, which methinks still doth stand,
Hath motion, and mine eye may be deceived.
For fear of which, hear this, thou age unbred:
Ere you were born was beauty’s summer dead.

Sonnet 104
W. Shakespeare

So I took the teapot Fatima gave me, so kind of her. And more, she also gifted me with green tea and some verbena leaves.

Yes that thing I put the tea in was given me by my sweet granny. It’s not just a tea, it’s a love concentrate.

Life can give you bitterness, but you can sweeten it… and this is the feeling for… a million years ago.

.: Fearless

Things happen. Yes. Qualche amica a volte deve andare via, qualche altro è confuso. Qualcuno si ammala, qualcuno guarisce. Some friends leave, some friend is confused. Someone shivers in the snow, someone is cold in the sun. Qualcuno è ostile, qualcuno è amorevole. Somebody smiles, some other cries.
All we can do is to hold on. Be calm, resist, withstand.
And make a comfort pasta.

Some speck ham, some Asiago cheese. Watch how the cheese melt… taste it slowly. Remember how many good things are there.

“Vi mostrerò la paura in una manciata di polvere.”
“I will show you fear in a handful of dust.”
(The Waste Land, Burial of the dead – T.S. Eliot)

.: Soul shine

My daddy always says cheese is one of the most basic and fundamental human food. I’m not particularly fond of cheese, but sure he’s right. And it can be a real comfort food… taking you to the basic of your soul, to the simplest sensations of taste.

Non so perchè ma… cheese always make me think of Rumi.

and Beth…

When you can’t find the light,
That guides you on the cloudy days,
When the stars ain’t shinin’ bright,
You feel like you’ve lost you’re way,
When those candle lights of home,
Burn so very far away,
Well you got to let your soul shine,
Just like my mama used to say.

She used to say soulshine,
It’s better than sunshine,
It’s better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain.

.: Happy Birthday Meat loaf

This is not completely new, but it has a filling !

Minced (pork and beef) meat (of course)
grated parmigiano reggiano cheese
grated bread
egg (1 for 100 gr of meat)
a bit of nutmeg
Some cheese for the filling: I use Asiago. Cut it in small pieces

Mix everything and create small loaves around each small pieace of Asiago cheese. Roll them in some grated bread and fry them in a pan with oil.

.: Happy Birthday Charles

quando Dio creò Me, be’… creò Me

sapeva cosa stava facendo
allo stesso tempo

Ha fatto qualche errore
ma quando creò te distesa a letto
fece tutto il Suo Sacro Universo

Charles Bukowski

Yes Yes

when God created love he didn’t help most
when God created dogs He didn’t help dogs
when God created plants that was average
when God created hate we had a standard utility
when God created me He created me
when God created the monkey He was asleep
when He created the giraffe He was drunk
when He created narcotics He was high
and when He created suicide He was low

when He created you lying in bed
He knew what He was doing
He was drunk and He was high
and He created the mountains and the sea and fire at the same time

He made some mistakes
but when He created you lying in bed
He came all over His Blessed Universe.
