Ingredients:

butter
onion
broth
rice
asparagus
grated cheese (parmigiano)

When I was a kid we didn’t have a garden. That’s why my dad decided to use some of his money to buy a small plot of land: he wanted to grow vegetables of his own. So, now I have asparagus and risotto is a good way to eat them.

 

 

Sì un tempo avevamo solo un cortile, e non un orto. Così a un certo punto mio padre decise di comprare un piccolo lotto di terra per coltivare frutta e verdura, ed ecco come oggi posso avere dei meravigliosi asparagi, con cui si può fare un bel risotto.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oggi ho deciso di fare il soffritto con il burro, so you can brown some onion with butter (sweet butter, not the salted one). Melt butter

and mince the onion to brown it

Then you have to boil the asparagus in water and chop them. I like to make a cream of them. Bollite gli asparagi e tritateli nella misura che desiderate. Inoltre preparate del parmigiano grattugiato. Prepare some grated parmesan cheese, and the rice

Then cook the rice as I told before, for any risotto: you put it in the pan and add a bit of broth, let i evaporate and add some more, until the rice is cooked. Then 3 or 4 minutes before the rice is done, you add the asparagus cream. Aggiungete gli asparagi 3 o 4 minuti prima della fine della cottura del riso

Mescolate. Blend everything. Then add the cheese and blend again. If you like it tasty and creamy, add more cheese. Con più formaggio risulterà più cremoso e saporito, se ne mettete meno, sarà più delicato.

I my old yard I didn’t have asparagus, but maybe I was fantasizing that one day I would be able to mess up with food. Sometimes kids’ dreams come true 🙂

It was much sweeter to have tea with Fatima, Narjis and little Yasmine…

I really miss them, as I miss my other friends who live far from me. I wish all of them lived by me and could have a chat and a tea with me. Sometimes you have the chance.. sometimes you don’t.

So I took the teapot Fatima gave me, so kind of her. And more, she also gifted me with green tea and some verbena leaves. Già, Fatima mi ha regalato tutto l’occorrente: il thè marocchino, la teiera e anche le foglie di verbena. Io preferisco la menta, ma la verbena è più calmante.

e ci metto anche il filtro della nonna. Yes that thing I put the tea in was given me by my sweet granny. It’s not just a tea, it’s a love concentrate.

100 gr sugar
80 gr butter
1 egg
baking powder

this time I added some orange flowers fragrance. Just because I need to add some more beauty to this tough world.

I don’t celebrate Valentine’s day. Never did. Or… I do everyday. Every time I am with the person I love, I try to make things nice. I know I have posted pizza many times, but I really really do love pizza. Pizza is my love food. So this is my last love pizza. I made it for my love and it was better than usual.

Everyday is good for pizza. Everyday is good for love.

I love cappelletti. I don’t know how to explain their taste to people who never had the chance of eating them. They’re pasta filled with meat and parmigiano reggiano. They’re something unique. And I must confess these were made by my mum ‘cause I’m completely dumb at making them. But believe me, you’d love them.

Don’t they look like small cowboy hats ? well.. not exactly, but I like to think they inspire the same poetry… even when you talkof killing your husband or wife, like in the Steeldrivers’ song, made famous by Adele’s rendition
